Parent Support Group Meeting
The first TSCF Parent Support Group Meeting of 2025 was held on February 15th, 2025. This gathering aimed to create a supportive and open space for parents of children with cerebral palsy to share their experiences, challenges, and insights. The discussion was structured around ten key questions, addressing various aspects of raising a child with cerebral palsy. The panel, consisting of two parents and guardians, was moderated to ensure a dynamic and informative exchange. The meeting was attended by 17 parents and 9 volunteers.
The goals of the meeting were to:
• Provide emotional and psychological support to parents of children with cerebral palsy.
• Offer a platform for parents to share their experiences and learn from one another.
• Identify common challenges faced by parents and explore potential solutions.
• Advocate for enhanced healthcare services and policy improvements.
• Promote community engagement and raise awareness about cerebral palsy.
• Offer financial assistance where needed.
Attendees expressed profound gratitude for the session, noting how meaningful it was to share their stories and listen to others. Many parents also appreciated the ongoing financial, material, and rehabilitative care support, which has been instrumental in alleviating some of their challenges. Volunteers played a vital role in the success of the meeting, helping facilitate discussions and providing essential logistical support.
