National Stakeholders’ Meeting on Birth Defects

he Straight Child Foundation (TSCF) was privileged to participate in the week-long National Stakeholders’ Meeting, held from Monday, April 7th to Friday, April 11th, 2025, to review and draft the Children with Special Needs Strategy, Birth Defects Surveillance Guideline, and Training Manual for Program Managers. Held under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Health, the meeting brought together experts from across Nigeria.

Our CEO, Dr. Peace Amaraegbulam, joined other professionals from the six geopolitical zones and partner organizations (Health And Development Support Programme-HANDS, PCDF, WACHEF and PLAN) and other Organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), CIHP, and Ike Foundation for Autism in drafting key national documents aimed at improving care and support for children with special needs.
