Empowering Communities for Early Clubfoot Detection
On this week’s episode of #ActivityFriday, we took our Early Detection & Referral (EDR) training programme to Oron LGA, Akwa-Ibom state, where Officers-in-Charge (OICs) from primary health centres across the region received vital information on clubfoot identification, early detection, and referral for treatment.
Many children born with clubfoot remain undiagnosed for too long, missing the critical window for early intervention. By equipping primary healthcare workers with the proper knowledge, we are strengthening the healthcare system at the grassroots level and ensuring no child is left behind due to lack of awareness or access to care.
💡 Why Early Detection Matters:
✅ Timely treatment prevents long-term disability.
✅ Increases access to free, effective care.
✅ Gives children a chance to walk, run, and play without limits.
The dedication of these health workers to learning, identifying, and referring cases of clubfoot will make a lasting impact on many lives. With stronger community engagement and awareness, we are one step closer to ensuring that every child walks free!
🔹 Together, we are making every step count! 🔹
