Advocacy for a Clubfoot-Free Future
For today’s #ActivityFriday, TSCF paid an advocacy visit to the Executive Secretary (ES) of the Abia State Primary Health Care Development Agency. The visit focused on strengthening partnerships and enhancing early detection and referral of clubfoot cases in the state.
During the meeting, we:
✅ Expressed our gratitude for the agency’s ongoing support in providing free clubfoot treatment.
✅ Discussed the incorporation of clubfoot into the Disease Surveillance and Notification (DSN) framework across all 17 LGAs in the state.
✅ Proposed an Early Detection and Referral session for DSN officers to improve case identification and timely intervention.
The ES commended TSCF, in partnership with @miraclefeet, for the incredible work in restoring mobility to children with clubfoot. He assured us of his full support and took immediate action by contacting the State DSN Chairperson. He also pledged to issue a memo to implement the discussed plans.
The TSCF advocacy team comprised:
👥 Dr. Uchenna Oluwatosin – Team Lead
👥 Uchenna Egbe-eni – Program Coordinator
👥 Oluyomi Wilson – Communication & Advocacy Officer
👥 Lady Nwachukwu Onyinyechi – Program Administrator
👥 Praise Amaraegbulam – Volunteer
This is a huge step forward in ensuring no child is left behind in the fight against clubfoot! 👏👏
We appreciate all caregivers and partners working tirelessly to see that every child walks beyond limits! 🦶✨
