Clubfoot Parent Support Group
On this week’s episode of #ActivityFriday, we take you to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH), where parents of children on braces came together for an insightful MEET AND GREET session on their clinic day. 👣💙
Led by Prof. Timothy Nottidge, Head of the Department of Orthopaedics/Traumatology, and Dr. Aniebiet Ubaha, UUTH Clubfoot Clinic Co-ordinator, this session provided a platform for parents to share experiences, discuss challenges, and exchange ideas on supporting their children through the bracing phase.
Parents were encouraged to stay committed to the treatment process, ensuring their children wear the brace as instructed and attend follow-up visits as scheduled. These small but crucial steps help prevent relapse and guarantee the best outcomes for every child on their journey to mobility.
Key takeaways from the session:
✔ Brace compliance is key! Parents were reminded of the importance of using the brace as instructed to ensure the best outcomes.
✔ Follow-up visits matter! Regular clinic visits help track progress and address any concerns early.
✔ Support makes a difference! Connecting with other parents provides motivation and reassurance.
At TSCF in partnership with @miraclefeet, we understand that clubfoot treatment goes beyond casting – it’s about continuous care, support, and encouragement. That’s why sessions like these are essential in building a strong, informed, and motivated community of parents.
A huge thank you to all the caregivers, parents, and medical professionals at UUTH Orthopaedic Unit and Clubfoot clinic who work tirelessly to ensure every child can walk, run, and thrive. Together, we are creating a future where no child is left behind!
